SAY GOOD-BYE TO THE CROSSFIT OPEN 2019… TILL OCTOBER

CROSSFIT OPEN 2019

DID YOU SURVIVE TO THE CROSSFIT OPEN 2019? THIS YEAR WE HAVE MORE!

EVEN IF YOU GOT OFFICIALLY INSCRIBED OR NOT, EVEN IF YOU WENT RX OR SCALED AND EVEN IF YOU MISSED DAVE CASTRO IN THE ANNOUNCEMENTS OR NOT, WE KNOW THAT, ONE MORE YEAR, YOU BATTLED HARD THE 5 WEEKS OF THE CROSSFIT OPEN.

Let’s be honest: it was a little bit tricky for all of us to understand this year’s announcements. Different cities, different schedules, different languages… We all complained, but at the end we “googled” it and went through with the five WODs.

  • We obeyed to the monotonous 15’AMRAP (19 wb and 19 cal row) of the 19.1. A WOD of pure leg (and heart) that recorded the number 19 in our minds forever and ever.
  • We survived to a 19.2 identical to the 16.2 in which the heavy squat cleans had to deal with the underrated fatigue of the T2B.
  • We fought the short 10′ time cap of a 19.3 with infinite reps in which the highly expected dumbbells made their appearance and where the strict HSPU invited to the party to the feared muscular failure.
  • Stoics, we also made a multidisciplinary and dynamic 19.3 of burpees, snatches and BMU thanks to the rest window of 3′ (that felt like 3”).
  • And what to say about the 19.5 with its collection of 105 thrusters and 105 C2B? if you still can walk and say “hi” with your hand, consider it a total success.

This year, the Open WODs have given to us a lot of lactic acid, many bloody hands and several “thrusted” noses, but also many epic Squat Clean PRs and countless first BMU. Now that we have had a few days to say thanks to the universe for still being alive, don’t you have a sadomasochistic desire of more? This year we have more!

2019, THE YEAR WITH TWO CROSSFIT OPEN:

Changes, changes, changes! Greg Glassman is being very loyal to his idea of pushing the routine away: this year he’s implementing uncountable modifications in the Crossfit Inc global functioning.

He eliminated the Regional, he introduced the Sanctionals and now he’s moving the Crossfit Open date to October (maybe to avoid overlapping with the competitions top seasson). So, this has been the last spring Open and this 2019 is going to be an extenuant and exciting year with two rounds of Crossfit Open: this first one of Februrary and March for the Crossfit Games 2019 and a second one in October for the Crossfit Games 2020.

Train, eat, sleep, do the Open… And repeat it!
